Biography

Tara came to conservation science later in her career after years in art, architecture, and design. With a background in both art and science, she believes that trans-disciplinary collaborations will be the only way forward to find true solutions to our conservation problems. Tara has worked in South Africa where she monitored endangered species and went on to study methods on field data collection in Botswana. She then helped to set up the Shared Universe foundation in Northern Limpopo, SA, which is a re-wilding conservation project that works on restoring degraded land and the re-introduction of endemic species.

She received her Master of Science in Conservation from Imperial College London in 2017. She continues to do research in the field of conservation communication and in particular, on the impact of images on human behavior change. In 2017 she set up a foundation, Wild Blue, with a view to collaborating with partners around the world to work on conservation communication, research, and education.
